About

Meet Your Artist Development & Creative Director Ellen Kim is a Creative Director, choreographer, mentor and artist developer whose career spans K-pop, American pop and entertainment. From performing on some of the world’s biggest stages to choreographing, movement coaching and developing artists, Ellen has spent her career working at the intersection of movement, performance and human development. Her work includes serving as Executive Choreographer for Riot Games’ K/DA debut, working with artists including Tiffany Young, Madison Beer and sunkis, and working with talent across YG, SM Entertainment and the U.S. music industry. But for Ellen, artist development has never been about creating an image or teaching someone how to perform like somebody else. It starts with who they are. For years, Ellen has mentored, taught and directed developing artists through training, debuts, showcases and live performance—helping them face fears, move through insecurity, understand their strengths and develop confidence that isn't dependent on comparison. The work is about giving artists a strong foundation, then teaching them how to apply what they learn while staying rooted in their own purpose, instincts and unique identity. K•FORMATION is the culmination of that work. A space where movement and performance are developed alongside the person—where students are challenged to grow, given permission to fail and learn, and taught to understand not only how they perform, but why they do it and who they are when they step into the room. The goal isn't to manufacture the next version of someone else. It's to build an artist who is rooted enough to become more fully who they already are.
